Construction company J. Malm Oy expands the use of the Sitedrive scheduling software to cover the entire organization. The continuous software feature development and the well-working collaboration ensure J. Malm continues its high-quality schedule management also in the future. It’s not only a question of software, but more importantly, professional development of practices.
J. Malm is a mid-sized construction company specializing in industrial and public buildings as well as residential production in south-western Finland. The company has done schedule management with Sitedrive from 2018, when the Tays construction site needed a tool that suits the jobsite environment both for creating general schedules as well as for weekly planning and digital management of the tight schedules on site. With positive experiences back then, the company started to gradually deploy the software also within the site management of other starting sites. But in the end, Sitedrive has been much more than a mere software license.
If you do schedule management, this is the tool you want to do it with.

”We’ve definitely implemented Sitedrive with the added value mentality first in mind, as it brings us a new way of managing our sites,” says Project Manager Eero Hyvärinen. ”Other similar systems aren’t nearly as easy-to-use. In addition, Sitedrive has a superb service and helpdesk. It’s been very important for us to get deployment support. In certain situations, there’s also need for scheduling consultation and it’s fruitful to get training by a schedule management professional who is a site manager himself. The implementation and know-how are just as important as the software itself.”
”It’s not just about a tool, but rather a way of working and new means to succeed in carrying out our projects,” confirms J. Malm CEO Mikko Suopanki. Digitalization becomes truly beneficial when the entire process for leading with data is re-thought so that it serves the business and company operations, understanding the special nature of the construction industry.

Eventually, production planning and control, and schedule management became one of the central development projects within J.Malm, and it became topical to select a company-wide system for it. ”We wanted to start assertively investing in schedule management and its development, and saw that we also needed to update the related tools to the modern-day standards. Based on our research and comparison between scheduling tools, it was clear that Sitedrive became an excellent choice for us,” continues Suopanki.
In the future, the company utilizes Sitedrive diversely in creating procurement and planning schedules, as well as production planning and general schedules. In addition, the phase and weekly schedules are especially important for the construction sites, and their management is now done smoothly with Sitedrive on all J. Malm construction sites. ”As we expand the use, we can elevate the quality of scheduling within the entire company, and add to the reliability of the schedules. Sitedrive will make the daily work easier for our site managers, and the investment will start to pay itself back,” encapsulates Hyvärinen, contented.
”We strongly believe that the implementation of Sitedrive will be successful and it will produce us significant additional value,” Suopanki wraps it up.
